Why have we relegated the arts to our childrens’ craft tables? A little bit of glue and some scissors do not make for true artistic inspiration. There is an intuitive need to ROAM in our children, and Artsy Startsy believes emphatically that caregivers need to provide children with the opportunity for children to just enjoy being children!
The Need to ROAM
Parents and caregivers know that children deserve to learn through play, and as such, we must expose our children to subject matter that is designed to enhance their creativity, their connectedness and their individuality. We believe that children must experience all areas of the arts and sciences by actively being in and taking part in what they love to do most.
For this reason, Artsy Startsy has created a unique curriculum that encourages children to ROAM if they want to!
ROAM stands for Readers, Observers, Artists, and Musicians! The curriculum allows children to actively explore the outdoors and to enjoy the diversity of the arts in order to feed their curiosity, creativity, imagination, empathetic qualities and expressive individualism. The same experiences that we enjoyed as children are those that we continue to savor throughout our rich and dynamic adult lives!
As busy parents and caregivers, we still seek daily inspiration from the arts and the outdoors, and what better way to fill this need than by sharing and enjoying these values with our own children?
